When I think about the perfect weekend, it usually involves doing as little as possible. Lounging in bed or on the couch indulging in good company or a good movie.
I don’t get many perfect weekends anymore as my current state of involvement for the summer is usually filled with family responsibilities, but I know that those subdued moments of bliss are just around the corner. My personal calendar always has the same thing on it for Sundays: Rest, relax, and recharge.
Sometimes I follow through on that. Sometimes I’m so busy that I don’t have time to relax, much less rest. I do, however, sit down on Sundays to plan out the following week (my calendar week goes from Monday to Sunday). I love the idea of being able to get up on Monday and start without thinking. The downside to planning the following week: I’m tempted to start my week early.
Thank goodness for my Kindle!
If I’m tempted to work, I will usually just grab my Kindle, crawl in bed, and read. It salvages what would otherwise NOT be a perfect weekend.
