What is a NASCAR Fan to Do?
I’ve been rather happy that this week has slowly been dragging by. The reason: Sunday is the last NASCAR race of this season.
Yep. In just a few days, the 2009 season will be behind us and we will have to wait on the 2010 season to arrive with Daytona in February.
Wow! That seems like such a long time to wait. I mean, for myself, it means no more standing in front of the TV screaming at a driver who obviously can’t hear me or even cares. It means not having to fuss about the obvious “Jimmie Johnson Show.” It means *gasp* not getting to see Tony Stewart’s smiling scruffy face on TV (though lately, I haven’t seen him smile much) because I’m such a sucker for those gorgeous brown eyes of his. It means not having to be escorted out of Wal-mart for yelling out nonsense because you are listening to the race on your headphones.
Yes, it means changes in my schedule and vicarious pleasures in life. *sigh*
But, the 2010 season is coming and I’ve already picked out my birthday present for May!
[Uh, as much as I’d like that… no. Besides, I doubt Tony Stewart would go along with that so… I have to pass.
]
I’m going to the Charlotte races in May. My husband has been told [see, that’s why Tony Stewart… well, you understand...] that he is taking me to both races! I’m so excited!
So, here’s to having to be adopted out on race days next season, the end of this season, and an optimistic outlook for my main squeeze driver, Tony Stewart, having a better season next year! Can you say championship?
And I don’t even think they will have to talk about changing the points system to do it, either!
